Full Route Destination

The Overland Park International Trade Center is located on 115th Street just east of Metcalf (which is also Highway 169).

Arriving from the East (the direction if you are coming from St. Louis or Columbia):

Follow I-70 West to I-435 South. I-435 circles the city. Follow it south for about 8-10 miles and it curves back West. Stay on I-435 West for about 5 or 6 miles. You will cross the state line from Missouri into Kansas. Exit I-435 West at Metcalf (Exit #79). Metcalf is also Highway 169.
Metcalf is just west of the exits for Nall and Roe. Turn South on to Metcalf (which will be a LEFT turn when arriving from the East) and proceed for approximately 1 mile. You will cross College Blvd and continue up a slight incline. When you reach 115th Street, which is the second light after College Blvd, you will see CompUSA(now closed) and Jo-Ann on your left (the East side of the road). The Trade Center is essentially behind these buildings and the Convention Hall is directly behind Jo-Ann.  Turn left (East) on to 115th Street (the light by J. Alexander's Restaurant). Proceed east for about 1/4 mile and then the road curves north.  Proceed North another 1/4 mile or so.  The Trade Center is on your left (the large building set back from the road with a very large parking lot). The parking is free and abundant. It is best to enter through the main doors on the East side of the building, though if parking is full on that side you may ener on the West side of the building, as well. .

From the airport there are at least two good ways to reach the convention center:.

1) The easiest, but not the shortest, is to exit the airport onto I-29 North, go north about 3-5 miles and transition to I-435 South. Follow I-435 South for about 30 miles and it curves back east (circling the city). Follow I-435 East about 5 miles to Metcalf Ave, which is at Exit #79. Metcalf is also Highway 169 (NOT Highway 69). Exit I-435 at Metcalf and turn South (which is a RIGHT turn when arriving from the West). You will cross College Blvd and continue up a slight incline. When you reach 115th Street, which is the second light after College Blvd, you will see CompUSA (now closed) and JoAnne on your left (the East side of the road). 2) The shorter route, but one with more transitions, is to exit the airport on to I-29 South.  Proceed on I-29 South approximately 10 miles and transition to I-635 South. (Exit 3B) The sign will say I-635 South to Kansas.  Proceed on I-635 South approximately 12-15 miles to I-35 South.  Proceed on I-35 South about 5 miles to Highway 69, which is also OVERLAND PARKWAY. It is the first exit SOUTH of 75th Street and I believe (but am not certain) that it is exit #226. Proceed on Highway 69 South about 5 miles and transition to I-435 East (a cloverleaf transition road). Proceed on I-435 East ONE exit to Metcalf (Exit #79).  Exit I-435 at Metcalf and turn South (which is a RIGHT turn when arriving from the West).
